Micro-Epsilon has updated its infrared pyrometer portfolio for non-contact temperature measurement, now focusing on three core series: thermoMETER FI, SE, and UC. In addition to enhanced performance and greater customizability, the new devices offer optional integration with Micro-Epsilon’s sensorTOOL software and ME bus interfaces—providing strong potential for a wide range of industrial applications.

With robust metal housings, high temperature resolution (NETD 50 mK), and response times as fast as 20 ms, these non-contact pyrometers measure surface temperatures from -50 to +1100 °C with exceptional speed, precision, signal quality and stability.

Their wear-free, non-contact design ensures long-term reliability across various industries, including factory automation, R&D, maintenance, process monitoring, and machine building.

Versatility for Diverse Industrial Needs

The three thermoMETER variants are tailored for different applications based on their design.

UC variant (Universal Controller)

Replacing the thermoMETER CT, the UC model is a high-performance pyrometer featuring a compact sensor and a separate controller, the latter housed in a robust aluminium enclosure with an IP65 protection rating.

The sensor itself is capable of measuring temperatures ranging from -50 to +1000 °C and is specifically designed to operate reliably in ambient temperatures of up to 180 °C, ensuring dependable performance even in extremely hot environments. This device is particularly well-suited for digital data processing, offering seamless integration with various industrial interfaces.

SE variant (Separate Electronics)

The SE thermoMETER is a miniature pyrometer featuring an ultra-compact sensor with the controller integrated directly into the cable.

It is capable of measuring temperatures from -40 to +1100 °C and can function reliably in ambient temperatures up to 120 °C. This model is specifically designed for use in machine building, production lines, and OEM or series applications, where space-saving and streamlined installation are essential.

FI variant (Fully Integrated)

The FI thermoMETER is a compact and space-saving pyrometer that combines both the sensor and controller within a single housing.

It is capable of measuring temperatures ranging from -40 to +1100 °C and operates reliably in ambient environments up to 80 °C. This model offers an outstanding price-performance ratio, making it an ideal solution for OEMs and high-volume applications.

Micro-Epsilon software sensorTOOL

The renewed thermoMETER series includes numerous technical improvements, such as enhanced performance and customer-specific adaptations. Parallel digital and analog operation, along with an integrated alarm function, provide added functionality. All models come factory-preset and are ready for immediate use.

Users benefit from simple calibration and parameterization, as well as extensive signal processing and configuration options via the free Micro-Epsilon sensorTOOL software. Measurement data can be displayed, saved, and exported through USB or RS485, and sensors can be configured for specific applications. Integration is flexible, with support for analog, digital, Ethernet, and fieldbus interfaces.
