Multifunction safety controller

Compact and easy to use

When assembling a complex security application, no programming skills are required, as is the case with safety PLCs. Thus e.g. the drop-out delay and debouncing times can be set individually and numerous parameters such as cross-circuit monitoring can be configured according to the requirements.

The PROTECT-SELECT multifunction safety controller has four preset programs, which can easily be selected by pressing the SELECT button. Also, each program can easily be adapted to the respective application via menu navigation and cleartext messages.

Compact and safe

Compactness means that PROTECT SELECT in a 52 mm housing can replace up to 6 safety modules with protection level up to PL, SIL3.

There are 18 digital safety inputs to control all common safety sensors e.g. emergency stop command devices, position switches, solenoid interlocks
with and without interlocking function and magnetic safety switches. There are also 4 safety transistor outputs and 2 safety relay outputs.

There are also 4 optional signal outputs and 2 safety analog inputs that allow control of critical process variables (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.).

Application Program 1

One protected area with two operating modes – automatic/manual

• Automatic/manual switching using the start lever
• Up to four dual-channel safety switching devices
• Emergency stop function
• Direct control of a solenoid interlock (lock/unlock)

Application Program 2

Two separate safety areas on one machine

• Up to two or three safety switching devices per safety area
• Start/reset function and feedback circuits for each safety area
• Prioritised emergency stop with independent reset function

Application Program 3

One safety area with up to 6 safety switching devices

• Each safety device can be assigned its own reset function
• Direct control of a solenoid interlock (lock/unlock)
• Prioritised emergency stop with independent reset function
• Replacement of up to 6 safety control modules, saving money and space

Application Program 4

One safetyd area with safe bridging (muting)

• Muting function with standard optoelectronic safety devices
• Flexible muting time parameterization
• Connection of additional emergency stop and safety switching devices and other safety device
• Direct control of a solenoid interlock (lock/unlock)
