X-PLUS drivers for precise, quiet and smooth operation

R.T.A. Motion Control Systems‘ X-PLUS series Drivers have a built-in “step & direction advanced” interface, an internal rectifier and a power input directly from the main AC supply (110-230 VAC). Use them for extremely precise and easy control of stepper motors!

They can be used to control standard and industrial NEMA 23 (56 mm) or NEMA 34 (86 mm) stepper motors that are connected to the main AC supply.

X-PLUS series Motor Drivers R.T.A.

You can choose between two versions of X-PLUS motor drivers:

  • X-PLUS L2 is smaller, used for smaller, low-power stepper motors,
  • X-PLUS B4.1 is larger, used for larger, high-power stepper motors.

A more powerful version of the X-PLUS motor driver is also available with an integrated safety function to safely switch off the stepper motor:

  • X-PLUS S4.1 with integrated safety function STO (SIL3).

X-PLUS L2 series driver

X-PLUS L2 series Driver R.T.A.

The X-PLUS L2 stepper motor driver is the youngest member of the X-PLUS series drivers, in a very compact plastic housing. Use it to drive smaller stepper motors with lower currents, with direct connection to the main AC supply (110 VAC to 230 VAC).

  • For driving stepper motors within a range of current 1.4-2.5 A,
  • For driving small stepper motors with power input directly from the main AC, both NEMA 23 (56 mm) and NEMA 34 (86 mm),
  • For connecting standard NEMA 34 stepper motors (86 mm):
    • SM 2861 5055, with a current of 2 A, a torque of 3.6 Nm and a power of 400 W,
  • For connecting NEMA 23 industrial stepper motors (56 mm):
    • SP 2566 5000, with a current of 1 A, a torque of 1.7 Nm, and is also available with IP 65 protection and the associated cable CVMSP0XM 1 m or 3 m long,
    • SP 2563 5000, with a current of 1 A and a torque of 1 Nm.

Robust and powerful X-PLUS B4.1

The X-PLUS B4.1 series stepper motor driver is a more powerful representative of the X-PLUS series, in a very compact and robust metallic housing for adequate natural cooling. Use it to drive larger stepper motors with higher currents, which are directly connected to the main AC supply (230 VAC).

  • For driving stepper motors within a range of current 1.4-2.5 A,
  • For connecting larger stepper motors with power imput directly from the main AC supply (110 VAC to 230 VAC), NEMA 34 (86 mm),
  • For connecting standard NEMA 34 stepper motors (86 mm):
    • SM 2862 5055, (2 A; 7,0 Nm),
    • SM 2862 5155, (4 A; 7,0 Nm),
    • SM 2863 5155, (4 A; 9,0 Nm).
  • For connecting NEMA 34 industrial stepper motors (86 mm):
    • RM 3R1M, (4 A; 3,6 Nm),
    • RM 3R2M, (4 A; 7,0 Nm),
    • RM 3R3M, (4 A; 9,0 Nm).

X-PLUS S4.1 with integrated safety function

X-PLUS S4.1 series Driver R.T.A.

The X-PLUS S4.1 series stepper motor driver is the more powerful representative of the X-PLUS series, which has an integrated safety function for safe shutdown of the stepper motor, STO (SIL3). STO (Safe Torque Off) switches off your engine current without interrupting the current of the drive. Use the STO both to stop the engine in an emergency and to prevent it from starting unexpectedly. STO saves costs for components and space, as you do not need additional interrupts between the motor driver and the motor when the safety function is activated.

The remaining features and applications of this driver, as well as its compatibility with stepper motors, equal the ones of the X-PLUS B4.1 driver.

Stepper motor and driver combo for demanding applications

The SP series industrial stepper motors that are particularly well protected (IP 65) and dust and water resistant are also available. You can use them in very demanding industrial environments. These motors can also be connected with a cable that has an M12 industrial connector.

They provide you with excellent performance, good torque characteristics and high compactness. They are also available with an oil seal on the shaft, for increased resistance to dust and water.

The RM series industrial stepper motors R.T.A.

RTA’s RM series industrial stepper motors are robust and have a high protection level (IP 54). You can connect them to the driver with a suitable cable that has an M12 connector. Due to adequate insulation, they can be securely connected to the motor driver with power input directly from the main AC supply (230 V). They are the right choice for your industrial application.

They provide excellent performance – high torque and a favorable torque ratio according to the speed of the stepper motor. They are also distinguished by exceptional compactness.
