NAMUR – intrinsically safe sensors Turck
NAMUR sensors from Turck operate in accordance with EN 60947-5-6:2000 and IEC 60947-5-6:1999 standards. Because of the small amount of energy needed to operate NAMUR sensors, they are not capable of causing ignition. You can therefore use them in hazardous area zones.
Use NAMUR sensors in applications in hazardous zones
NAMUR sensors Turck are 2-wire sensing devices used with switching amplifers. With the DC supply limited to 8.2 V, they draw the currents between 1.2 mA and 2.1 mA. They can therefore not cause an ignition and you can use them in intrinsically safe applications in explosive atmospheres.
In addition to transmitting the signal to the Ex-safe environment, they also enable you the disconnection and short circuit control.
Use NAMUR sensors in applications in hazardous zones
NAMUR sensors meet the requirements of 94/9/EC directive, FM and CSA electrical certification and other standards. This means you can use them in an extremely wide range of applications:
- in all potentially explosive atmospheres where ATEX equipment is required,
- chemical industry,
- oil industry,
- …
