RFID systems in industry are most often used in internal transport systems, e.g., hanging conveyors, pallet transport, etc. However, they can also be used for tool identification. For the latter purposes, Turck, a leading manufacturer of industrial RFID systems, has introduced a new read/write head. The TB-Q08 is currently the smallest ISO15693 compliant radio frequency identification (RFID) read/write head on the market with protection to IP67.
Thanks to its compact rectangular design and the 15 cm long connection cable, the TB-Q08 is particularly suitable for use in restricted mounting conditions, such as in small assembly and transport lines. The identification of molds, such as injection molding tools, is an ideal use for the new read/write head.
