Motion control

Motion Control is a key technology in the Industrial Automation Market. Deliver the desired action in your operations by implementing motion control solutions that ensure precision, accuracy, and efficiency. Rely on flawless repeatability and responsiveness even in the most demanding environments. Motion Control deals with moving individual parts of a machine in a controlled manner. The motion control system enables machine movement, but more importantly, it ensures that it can be stopped.

Let’s develop one of these applications

Nowadays, frequency converters are used in practically every application with the induction motor drive system. They help improve your operational performance, the energy efficiency of your system or equipment, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the lifespan of your machines.

Frequency converter is an efficient, reliable, compact, and cost-effective solution. It can replace obsolete systems in motor starting, speed and flow control and other applications. As the frequency converter is capable of varying the output speed of a motor without the need for mechanical pulleys, it reduces the overall maintenance. Moreover, provided that your application is properly designed, the converter has the ability to save your money through its inherit nature to save energy by consuming only the power that’s needed.

A servo motor is an AC synchronous brushless motor with integrated positional feedback. It is used in the closed-loop motion control systems. As it can determine the position of the shaft, you can control speed, position, and torque with high precision.

Particular by design, servos inherently possess features and properties distinguishing them from the rest of electric actuators. Servo motors are used throughout many industries as they have high efficiency, high power relative to their size and more constant torque at higher speed. Also, they are: able to operate in a closed loop, very reliable and robust, quiet and smooth and they can rotate with high speed, can reach high acceleration. Due to their robustness and reliability, they can be used in wash-down areas and in harsh environments with temperature fluctuations and high shock loads.

You can use servo motor for various applications, like machine tools where high accuracy is required, robotics, filling and packaging equipment, metal and wood cutting, trimming, and contouring, CNC and machines used in the textile industry, printing machines and in al applications with high demands for precise positioning, speed, and torque control.

A stepping motor (also step or stepper motor) has permanent magnetic shaft (rotor) and stationary electromagnet (stator). It typically has 50 electromagnet poles with which it can achieve 200 steps per revolution. If the system is properly designed, it can easily position the rotor of the motor without any position sensor for feedback.

Stepping motors are cheap, reliable, robust and have extremely low maintenance costs. They can reach very high torque at low speed. They have also high holding torque. Stepping motor drives are small, robust and simple to setup and to connect with the PLC or other systems.

Essentially, stepping motors offer excellent speed control, precise positioning, and repeatability of movement. Generally speaking, any application that requires highly accurate positioning, speed control, and low speed torque can benefit from their use. You can take advantage of them in 3D printing equipment, textile machines, small robotics, labelling machines, filling and packaging equipment, CNC milling machines, machine tools, conveyors, and many more.

Slip rings are electromechanical devices, used for transmission of the electrical power from the static to the rotating part of the equipment. They can also transmit electrical signals, optical signals, fluids and compressed air. Theyare designed for various number of channels, rotation speed, voltage and current, and installation options.

Slip rings are used throughout many industries, some of these are: oil and gas, water treatment, medical, electronics and aerospace industry, construction, and agriculture. Some of the most common use cases include: wind turbines (for elimination of cable twisting and tangling during turbine rotation), intelligent lighting (for elimination of cable twisting and tangling during light rotation), labelling machines with rotating carousels (for transferring the power supply and controls from the stationary aspects of the machinery to the rotating parts).
